Russia is a unique and multinational country. A large country in which many different nationalities live.
More than 150 peoples live on the territory of the Russian Federation, half of them are indigenous. Only 7 nationalities have more than 1 million people: Russians, Ukrainians, Bashkirs, Chuvashs, Chechens and Armenians. Russians make up about 78% of the total population.
