Adjectives in Russian have two degrees of comparison: comparative and superlative.
If you need to express the idea that an object, a person has some quality to a greater extent, then the superlative degree is used in the Russian language.
There are two forms of superlative education in Russian:
- complex,
- simple.
Complex and simple superlatives are used when comparing with other objects, persons:
So, a complex superlative degree is formed from any qualitative adjective with the help of the words "самый".
It is important that the word "most" agrees with the adjective in gender, number and case.

Another complex superlative is formed from the simple comparative degree of qualitative adjectives and the pronoun all in the genitive plural - всех, всего.
It is important that the same form is used in every gender and number.
Э́тот го́род краси́вее всех.
Э́та маши́на быстре́е всех.
Э́то о́зеро глу́бже всех.
Э́ти го́ры вы́ше всех.
The simple superlative is used in situations where there is no need to compare objects, faces. A special superlative degree is formed by suffixes - ЕЙШ- or -АЙШ- (after consonants ж, ш, ч, щ).
Adjectives in a special superlative degree change in gender, number and case.
Джомолу́нгма - высоча́йшая верши́на на Земле́.
Байка́л - глубоча́йшее о́зеро в ми́ре.
Вундерки́нд - умне́йший ребёнок.
Не понима́ю, почему́ у нас в стране́ таки́е строжа́йшие пра́вила?!

From a simple superlative degree, another superlative degree can be formed using the prefix НАИ-.
Adjectives in this form will change in gender, number and case as usual.
Often this prefix is highlighted with additional stress.
Мы реша́ем наиважне́йшие вопро́сы.
Он по́льзовался наибо́льшим влия́нием.
There is another complex superlative, which is formed with the help of words"наиболее" (increase in quality) and "наименее" (decrease in quality). These words are used when comparing with other objects, persons.
It is important that adjectives in any gender, case number can be used with these forms. The words "наиболее" and "наименее" do not change.
Наибо́лее ва́жные реше́ния он принима́л самостоя́тельно.
Э́та часть фи́льма явля́ется наиме́нее интере́сной.
Conclusion: An excellent degree in Russian can be expressed in comparison or without comparison with other subjects, persons.
When comparing with other subjects, additional words will be used with adjectives "самый", "наиболее", "наименее", "всех", "всего".
Without comparison with other subjects, the form of the adjective is changed using suffixes -ЕЙШ-, -АЙШ- or prefix НАИ-.
