In Russian there are several variants that say belonging. For example, there is construction "I have". You can also use possessive pronouns.

Possessive pronouns indicate who owns the object. Such pronouns answer the questions Whose? -Чей? [chei] Чья? [chiya] Чьё? [chiyo] Чьи? [chii].
These pronouns change like the nouns with which they combain, by gender, number and case.

singular:
Это я. Это зонт. Чей это зонт? Это мой зонт.
Это я. Это маши́на. Чья это маши́на? Это моя́ маши́на.
Это я. Это пальто́. Чьё это пальто́? Это моё пальто́.

plural:
Это я. Это часы́. Чьи это часы́? Это мои часы́.

In the Russian language there are no special possessive pronouns, indicating the belonging to a third person - ЕГО, ЕЁ, ИХ. These pronouns do not change by gender and number, they have the same form for the singular and plural, for the feminine, masculine and neuter genders.

Variants of questions and answers:
Чей это зонт? Чья это машина? Чьё это пальто? Чьи это часы?

Это МОЙ зонт? - Да, твой. / Нет, не твой.         
Это ТВОЯ́ маши́на? - Да, моя́. / Нет, не моя́.
Это ЕГО́ пальто́? - Да, его́. / Нет, не его́.
Это ИХ часы́? - Да, их. / Нет, не их.

Это мой ДРУГ? - Да, друг. /Нет, это брат.
